    Lead Land Surveyor (Professional Land Surveyor) - Durban

    • The Lead Land Surveyor will be responsible for all surveying activities required for the accurate and efficient execution of the Replacement of Water Pipelines & Billing System in the Port of Durban Project. This includes site layout, boundary surveys, as-built surveys, and providing precise data to ensure construction activities meet design specifications and tolerances.
    • 2 year Project
    • Based in Durban (must live in Durban or have own accommodation)
    • BSc or B-Tech in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
    • Registered as a Professional Land Surveyor with PLATO (South African Geomatics Council).
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction projects, including pipeline and infrastructure works.
    • Proficiency in survey software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, or Leica Infinity.
    • Expertise in using modern surveying equipment.
    • Experience with NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

    Surveying and Mapping

    • Conduct boundary, topographic, and geodetic surveys to establish accurate site data.
    • Set out pipeline routes, structures, and other project features as per design requirements.
    • Verify as-built conditions and provide updated drawings for records.

    Data Management and Reporting

    • Use advanced surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and drones, to collect accurate data.
    • Maintain detailed survey records and prepare reports for project stakeholders.
    • Ensure all survey data aligns with design and contractual requirements.

    Compliance and Quality Control

    • Adhere to legal requirements and project-specific survey standards.
    • Ensure quality and accuracy in all surveying operations through checks and calibrations.

    Collaboration with Project Teams

    • Work closely with designers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure survey data supports

    construction activities.

    • Provide guidance to subcontractors on survey and layout requirements.
