• Our state-of-the-art DC in Hammersdale, KZN is on the search for an Operational Technology Support to provide first line technical assistance, maintenance and support related to all systems applications, infrastructure, and material handling equipment for the relevant departments within the DC.

A day in your life?

• Effectively maintain the day-to-day operations and incident management of the departmental Systems as defined in relevant department Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements
• Modifying and troubleshooting industrial motor controls, I/O and pneumatic subsystems, and variable speed drives.
• Business support contact for diagnosis of system and/or software issues
• Providing technical support assistance to the DC
• Liaising with Warehouse Control System support and IT Application support when necessary, for escalated issues
• Scheduling and keeping up to date on all modifications performed for systems update.
• Assisting in providing training to staff on Warehouse Control Systems installed equipment.
• Performing Preventative IT maintenance on all machinery according to maintenance schedule.
• Tracking daily, weekly, and monthly preventative IT maintenance log
• Shift work would be required during peak period and when operationally required.

What experience we’re looking for?

• A BTech qualification in Computer Science/ Engineering or similar
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience & knowledge in the below:
• Support in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution centre environment
• Warehouse Management Systems and Warehouse Control Systems specifically working with/coding PLC’s
• Excellent people skills are required and ability to guide your customers through a problem solving process.
• Software and hardware architecture, including servers, networks, and client server software.
• Oracle Enterprise Linux experience
• Basic T-SQL
• Troubleshooting motors, scanners, solenoids, print and apply equipment, VFDs, photo eyes, encoders, and electrical control equipment.
• Able to read mechanical and electrical layouts via AutoCard
• Reporting on incidents to identify trends and make recommendations.
