Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer - School of Health Care Sciences - Department of Radiography - Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Coordinate the B Rad Hons, Radiation Therapy program; 
• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students;
• Supervising research on undergraduate and postgraduate students;
• Participating in skills training and assessment;
• Updating course content and revising study guides;
• Curriculum transformation;
• Maintaining the electronic learning environment;
• Performing other academic and research duties as may be delegated by the Head of Department;
• Conducting research at a national and international competitive level;
• Participating in the Department’s strategic initiatives relating to research, teaching, learning, research and community engagement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR LECTURER:

• A Master’s degree in Radiation Therapy and/or related field;
• Current registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA);
• At least one DHET accredited publication;
• At least one year teaching experience at a Higher Education Institution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR LECTURER:

• A Master’s degree in Radiation Therapy and/or related field;
• Current registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA);
• Minimum 3 accredited publications (preferable in ISI journals);
• At least 2 Master’s supervised;
• 3 years teaching experience;
• Curriculum development experience;
• Course/block coordinator experience;
• Conference papers delivered.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

• Experience in a clinical environment;
• PhD in Radiography;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Clinical experience in general radiography procedures and radiation sciences;
• Track record of supervising postgraduate students;
• Community engagement recommended.
