An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced admitted attorney to join TFG Africa’s legal team as a legal advisor.
The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice and services (some specialist) to TFG’s service and retail divisions for South Africa and the other African countries in which TFG trades.
Responsibilities
Drafting, negotiating and settling contracts including local and international supply and service agreements
Providing legal advice to TFG business units to ensure compliance with applicable legislation (including CPA, FICA, ECTA , GDPR and POPIA)
Dispute resolution including advising and assisting business with contractual disputes, letters of demand and summons, the resolution of escalated customer, ombud and regulator complaints
Briefing and managing external attorneys for any outsourced matters and opinions and facilitating the conduct of those matters
an admitted attorney with a minimum of 5 years post admission experience at a law firm or as an inhouse legal advisor

able to build good relationships and effectively communicate with stakeholders across all levels of the business as well as third party attorneys, legal advisors, suppliers and service providers
able to work in a team or independently, under pressure in a demanding environment
Qualifications
A LLB Degree
Experience drafting, negotiating and settling agreements (local and cross border)
Experience providing legal advice as a practising attorney or inhouse
Highly advantageous would be
Experience drafting, reviewing and advising on IT service agreements, IT hardware supply agreements, software agreements, end-user license agreements, data processing agreements
Experience advising or supporting an e-commerce business
Skills
Expert knowledge of and practical experience in the interpretation and application of CPA, POPIA and GDPR
Expert knowledge of the SA legislative landscape, common law, contract and delict
Exceptional drafting and communication skills
Attention to detail and negotiating skills
Sound judgement, prioritising and decision making ability
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Office
