Legal Compliance Engineer - Richards Bay at Mondi Group

Job Purpose

The function is to provide accurate management of all the Statutory requirements in the Mill and provide accurate reporting on the status. Also ensure integrity and compliance to standards for all steam lines after the crown valve, Gas installations, Oxygen and Nitrogen lines.

Qualifications & Expertise

• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of the OHS Act

Job Experience

• 5 - 7 years’ experience as a Legal Compliance Engineer

GMR 2.7(a) appointment for:   

• Steam distribution network (HP,MP and LP) integrity and compliance to standards from after crown valves to user isolation valves (included)
• SASOL gas line integrity and compliance to standards from gas station isolation valve to the first isolation valve after the gas trains.
• Oxygen and Nitrogen gas installations’ integrity and compliance to standards for the site.

OHS Act Legal Compliance Auditing

• Weekly report (attached) to be submitted to all stakeholders on the current compliance status to all regulations in the OHS Act.
• Audits to be done to verify reported compliance.
• Inspection reports to be audited for quality control
• Concessions and dispensations to be listed and controlled under the Function Locations with clear weekly reporting .

Job Competencies/ Attributes/Skills

• Excellent technical problem-solving abilities
• Computer literacy including SAP and PI Historian is essential
• Excellent technical troubleshooting / problem solving skills
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word as examples)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Has attention to detail, delivers quality work within deadlines, proactive approach
• Ability to work under minimum supervision and take personal initiatives to achieve goals
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Office
• SAP knowledge is an advantage
• Valid Driver’s License
