Location Planner

Boxer Superstores, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pick and Pay, is a rapidly growing Supermarket discount chain operating in all provinces throughout South Africa. Owing to our growth we are looking for an experienced Location Planner to join our Distribution Centre in Polokwane.

Job Deliverables

• To ensure that the stores have sufficient stock in the store to meet customer demands.

Main Job Functions

• Managing stock levels in the DC and linked stores to model
• Managing discontinued, suspended and slow moving lines in all sites
• Monitoring supplier and store strike rates as per delivery schedule
• Supplier interactions (returns & uplifts)
• Liaising with Product Planner and HOD Planning on stock issues
• Liaising with DC Operations on stock out of lines and over/under stocks and prioritize deliveries in and out of the DC
• Highlight stock adjustments (shrinkage to DC operations)
• Highlight ranging issues to range department
• Management of Inbound and Outbound strike rates at a store level
• Management of store queries regarding stock

Qualifications and experience

• A 3 year degree or studying toward a Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
• At least 5 years current and relevant experience ( supply chain retail-FMCG)
• Experience in retail/FMCG is a big advantage
• Knowledge of ERP and demand planning systems
