Logistics Manager at Ntice Sourcing Solutions

This role is to drive strategy, planning, coordination of logistics activities, provide functional leadership and coaching to the team. Your role will focus on budgetary management, reporting, driving continuous improvement on Logistics systems, processes and operations (cost and service levels), developing and implementing SOPs and SLAs, 3PL Management, brokerage, projects, IR/HR issues as well as communication with clients and internal Stakeholders.

For this role you will need to have a minimum of 10+ years in Logistics (5 years at Management Level) within a Manufacturing environment, with Consulting experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• 10-15 years of Logistics experience in a manufacturing environment, of which, a minimum of 5 years in a management role
• Bachelor's degree required; Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or Commerce/Business Management
• A post-graduate qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics Management, Lean or Six Sigma is preferred
• Hands-on experience in managing transportation, warehousing and shipping operations
• Lean or Six Sigma 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees day-to-day logistics operations.
• Represents the Supply Chain Management department internally with key stakeholders in all matters related to logistics operations.
• Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of factors affecting performance.
• Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, tracking spending, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Leads Supplier Relationship Management for Logistics Service Providers: develops and implements SOPs and SLAs, conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate joint planning and value creation activities.
• Inputs and leads the implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy within the Logistics area.
• Drives continuous improvement of Logistics systems, processes and operations on cost and service levels.
• Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and direction setting.
• Assumes Project Management responsibilities for key projects and initiatives.
• IMS Champion: enables the development of SOPs, leads the implementation and drives compliance.
• Travel within KZN and to provide on-site leadership for the Logistics function
• Potential travel nationally and internally as business needs arise
