Maintenance Foreman - Dreyer & Dreyer Farming at VKB Group

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Management:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the workshop.
• Ensure the workshop is clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Schedule and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on farm machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Laying and maintaining water for livestock.
• Maintenance of buildings, fences, corrals and roads

Team Leadership:

• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Administrative Duties:

• Prepare and manage the workshop budget.
• Order and manage parts and supplies.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Maintenance or Workshop Manager or similar role
• Strong knowledge of farm machinery and equipment
• Excellent mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
• Leadership and team management abilities
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of water pumps and solar power
• Basic knowledge to maintain buildings
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in mechanical or agricultural engineering
• Experience in a farming environment
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
