Maintenance Technician - Millwright (Midrand) at DSM-Firmenich

Job Purpose

Execute all required electrical and mechanical planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance activities of all workplaces within the plant safely and technically supporting the operators.

Job Responsibilites

• Make sure all execution of technical work is carried out in a safe way
• Execute inspection, preventive maintenance and corrective work orders and this register in the maintenance control system.
• Give feedback on all planned and unplanned maintenance activities
• Write equipment breakdown report
• Organize the workplace, documentation and toolboxes according to the 5S standards
• Carry out breakdown analysis and follow up on countermeasures
• Give technical support and training to operators
• Participate in technical improvement teams and propose technical improvements
• Participate fully in equipment breakdown root cause failure analysis
• Execute work orders with the right level of quality and make sure no breakdown time occurs due to maintenance
• Supports the execution of Engineering and Local projects
• Register all activities in ERP system by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
• Manage daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
• Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the fulfillment center, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
• Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed
• Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
• Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages

Job Requirements

•    N6 in ElectroMechanical Engineering (Bachelor graduate possible) 
•    Trade tested Millwright
•    2 – 3 Maintenance working experience in Food and Beverage Industry
•    Intermediate MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, CMMS
•    In depth knowledge of PLC, Variable Speed Drives, Motors, Electrical circuits
•    In depth knowledge of mechanical drive systems, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps
•    In depth knowledge of Problem-solving tool
•    Basic welding skills
•    Basic knowledge of HVAC system
•    Able to communicate in English
•    Technical report writing
