    Management Accountant & Business Controller

    KEY COMPONENTS OF THE ROLE

    • As a Manager, the incumbent will develop and maintain an operational capability and assist with the management and development of a “service-orientated” organisational culture that will continuously differentiate the company as a world-class medical software solution business. The group in South Africa has an operating turnover of more than R100 million with an aggressive growth strategy in place.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinating activities within the administrative, business processing and management accounting areas.
    • Managing and directing a staff compliment in the areas of management accounting, debt collection, invoicing, business controlling using SAP, monthly statistical and financial reporting and budgeting for the group.
    • Managing customer invoicing and month end closing for the company together with the centralized corporate accounting within strict deadlines set by central finance.
    • Managing the input required for financial year end closure.
    • Drawing up and monitoring the operational budget, ensuring that the company spends within budget and any over budget items are approved beforehand.
    • Managing institutional budgeting and purchasing activities and assisting temporarily with administering Payroll and company secretarial duties.
    • Linking the finance and administration activities with that of the Head Quarters based in Koblenz, Germany.
    • Fulfil operational reporting requirements for the local and the regional management and liaise with Corporate Finance in Koblenz, Germany.
    • Perform business controlling over all product lines in SA and improve KPI reporting for all departments.
    • Assist the Managing Director with the implementation and execution of strategic decisions, change interventions, operational plans and policies for areas within this portfolio.
    • Review/monitor the company’s operations such as quality, standards, risk management, achievement of targets, etcetera.
    • Report to the Managing Director and Executive regarding operational matters such as progress against budgets, variances, unbudgeted expenses, trends and opportunities in relation to the external environment.
    • Management of the group infrastructure and asset register and other items of a capital nature as well as establishing a proper plan for their maintenance and replacement.
    • Calculation of sales commission.
    • Signatory and administration on bank account.

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • An accounting qualification i.e. BComm, BCompt, B Comm Accounting Science, B Comm Finance, BBus Sc Finance or Accounting
    • A CA qualification with a management qualification will be preferable i.e. MBL or MBA
    • Advance Excel certification

    Experience:

    • Five years financial management experience, including accounting and financial reporting, preferably in an IT Software development environment, of which at least 3 years must have been in a supervisory or management capacity.
    • Experience in working with business process applications such as SAP to measure, interpret trends, and report on business and staff performance metrics
    • Be astute at managing and recovering bad debts from customers.
    • Ability to effectively negotiate/influence others; establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external personnel at all levels.
    • Leadership qualities and exposure to building effective teams.
    • Be pragmatic, detail and figures orientated.
    • Must take care in producing accurate statistics and management accounting information.
    • Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems will be an added advantage.
    • The candidate will be eligible for Directorship on the CGM SA Board at the discretion of Directors of the Company and must display good corporate governance qualities and be eligible for such a role.
    • The candidate must have strong analytical, statistical and numerical capabilities with advance Excel experience.
    • Must be able to understand business process administration in an environment similar to CGM SA's e-Health and software development, sales and technical support environment.
    • Be a hard worker and prepared to put in the hours irrespective of business working hours to achieve outcomes and deadlines.
    • Must be a self-starter.
    • Good leadership and management skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams across country borders.
    • Must be able to build a good rapport with the CGM Corporate Finance team in Germany to achieve outcomes and common objectives.
    • Must have a valid SA drivers’ licence.
    • Must be willing to travel locally and overseas as required by the Company.
