Management Accountant at Spaza Store

KEY OUTCOMES

•  Supporting the COO in budget development, budgetary control, forecasting, financial modeling, and the development, design, and implementation of systems and controls, financial policies, and procedures;
•  Manage the creditors function: Review creditors invoicing (including travel, credit cards, staff claims and general transactions)
•  Reviewing expense allocations to correct cost categories
•  Prepare creditors reconciliation and ensure timely and accurate settlement of invoices
•  Reviews payment requisitions for Accounts Payable and ensures accuracy of information as well as documentation before payments are released
•  Review cashbook processing and bank reconciliations for multiple entities in multiple currencies and banking platforms
•  Prepare Debtors statements and reconciliation, including intercompany recovery transactions and reconcile intercompany accounts.
•  Prepare Weekly and Monthly Payroll journals and settlement to payroll providers
•  Preparation of vat reconciliations for review and submissions Minimum
• Oversee and take responsibility for all retail banking, petty cash and approved payments
•  Ensure adherence to finance processes to maintain internal financial controls and procedures
•  Prepare management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, providing accurate and timely financial and management reporting, including analysis of variances against budget,
•  Ensure all operating processes are effectively implemented and maintained to sustain profitability, protect the brand values, and deliver effective service levels
•  Effectively lead change, through actively embracing our desired culture and living the brand values

Minimum Qualification

•   Qualified CA (SA) is essential
•   2 year experience as a Management Accountant
•  Advanced Excel reporting skills (essential)
•   Proficient in Xero, TradeGecko and cloud based accounting
•   Budgeting experience will be advantageous
•  Knowledge of TradeGecko, Shopify, Vend
•  Must have a driver’s license and willingness to travel
