Manager Baggage and Trolley Operations at Airports Company South Africa

The successful candidate will report to the AGM Operations Services will provide the following services:

• Manage the Baggage and Trolley operation.
• Translate airport operations plan into tactical baggage and trolley operations plan.
• Conduct analysis of current and future capacity and demand and align resources.
• Develop contingency plans and manage risks during planned and unplanned events.
• Ensure compliance to legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Manage the trolley operation, which includes tracking and reconciliation to ensure trolley numbers are reconciled and defective trolleys are identified and removed from service.
• Procurement of assets to meet supply and demand.
• Set targets for baggage performance and ensure these performance targets are met through close cooperation with ramp handling companies.
• Conclude and manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) with providers within governance framework.
• Manage contracting and renewal process to ensure business continuity.
• Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate’s activities to ensure objectives are met.
• Improve efficiencies through cost management, containment and effective utilisation of resources.
• Develop and manage department budget in line with approved parameters.
• Build healthy, internal & external stakeholders relationships.

Technical Skills and Experience:

The following skills and experience will be required:

• The successful candidate must have a relevant four-year Degree in commerce or logistics,
• A minimum of 6 years Operational process experience is essential, and 3 years supervisory experience is recommended.
• A code B driver’s licence with driving experience is essential.
• Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is required.
