    Manager: Legal Services Centre

    You will be responsible for:

    • Identifying and presenting opportunities to enhance technological relevance within the Department (this including the introduction of new technologies). 
    • Compiling, Implementing and Adjusting tactical business plans to foster achievement of strategic objectives set for a particular business area. 
    • Identifying and developing internal controls and feedback systems to monitor operational activities.
    • Facilitating problem-solving in respect of day-to-day operations where necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the Department.
    • Conducting quality checks on service levels.
    • Reporting any non-compliance matters timeously. 
    • Monitoring, analyzing and reporting of performance for the Department Provides guidance and advice to Legal staff in terms of appropriate case and complaints/query resolutions where necessary 
    • Builds and maintains sound business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, such as, but not limited to Department of Justice, Ombudsman, Legal Departments and Attorneys.
    • Demonstrating a high level of commitment towards employee performance management whereby regular monitoring and feedback sessions are conducted with employees to ensure agreed upon performance efficiency levels are maintained. 

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Completed Legal Degree (LLB, BProc, Bjuris or BA Law) essential. 
    • Must be an Admitted Attorney. 
    • Minimum of 5 years’ post admission legal experience.
    • Previous experience in a supervisor or management level position essential. 
    • Experience in respect of budget management, human resource practices and operations essential.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Must be computer literate. 
    • Must speak English fluently. 
    • Ability to speak one other official African language advantageous. 
    • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport essential; must be willing to travel.
