Manager: Operational Training (FAOR) at ATNS

Job description

• Strategic Alignment- Manage and ensure the alignment of training to business needs and requirements in order to meet the skills, competence and operational safety requirements of ATS. Lead the development of the overall Training Plan and Training Standards Maintenance Program for Operations and monitor and ensure the effective implementation thereof. Ensure optimal utilisation of the unit-specific simulators through effective management of the SSS facility and associated ATM simulators to enable the achievement of maximum ROI for training provided. Ensure that staff is trained and optimally deployed in accordance with business needs. Manage and ensure that equipment, facilities, and simulators are prepared and ready for training, test and evaluation as well as business continuity in the event of a disaster.

Minimum requirements

Formal Qualifications

• Air traffic control qualification (ATCO3) (i.e. approach procedural and radar control, or area procedural and radar control)
• Formal leadership (Management Development Program) and or Business Management qualification

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an OJTI or Designated Examiner in air traffic management operations or functions of which at least 3 years must be at management level in an ATCO3 unit or pool

ALTERNATIVELY

Formal Qualifications

• Air traffic control qualification (ATCO3) (i.e. approach procedural and radar control, or area procedural and radar control)
• Formal leadership (Management Development Program) and or Business Management qualification will be an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 8 years’ experience as an ATS Instructor (with Designated Examiner experience), ATM Specialist, or Investigations & Standards Specialist

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Specific knowledge of the relevant ATM system is required in the following fields:
• System interaction of the simulator from the Leader and Exercise Editor (EED) position
• Complete understanding of the functionality of the input and interactive menus
• System configuration options for training and disaster recovery phases
• Training and development on the ATM system o ATM System Data Preparation Training · Aviation regulation and legislation ·
• Knowledge of Assessor and Moderator Training
