Manager/Senior Consultant (Tax Accounting) at Mazars

An opportunity exists in the Tax Consulting Division of Mazars; an international professional services firm, based at Mazars House in beautiful Century City, Cape Town.

You will independently acquire and lead assignments in a specialised area of tax; carry out research relating to a variety of tax issues (covering the full spectrum of taxes); compile appropriate reports/opinions/letters and other documents; review reports/opinions/letters and other documents prepared by tax consultants and senior tax consultants; liaise with clients, their advisors and SARS where appropriate; actively engage in business development opportunities to existing and potential clients.

To be considered, solid experience in a similar role is an absolute must.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Research
• Consulting and tax advice
• Tax calculations and reconciliations
• Tax Administration and dispute resolution
• Budget management in respect of client engagements
• Prepare proposal documents/ letters of engagement
• Manage individual productivity
• Articles, other client communication and marketing material
• Training and development
• Focus and / or Operational Group Leader
• Assist with department budgets
• Delegate assignments
• Review of work
• Recommend billings amount and timings

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years tax consulting experience
• Accounting degree plus tax qualification(s)
• CA (SA) and/or completed SAICA Articles plus tax qualification(s)
• Computer literate – proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Familiar with audit software – able to navigate through and use Caseware
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of IFRS
• English proficiency
