PURPOSE: '

 Lead a team to install, repair, wire, and maintain all electrical components found in a variety of vehicles.

Minimum Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

•     Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
•     N3: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum)
•     Trade: Auto Electrician MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
•     N4: Technical (Recommended/Desirable)
•     Certificate: Basic Management Program (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE: 

• 3-5 years Applicable technical and maintenance experience within a heavy industry, production, plant, mining or workshop environment  (Essential/Minimum)  Operational

•     Competence: Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities
Administration and Support Services    

•  Assist in compiling content of job cards
•  Assist foreman in day-to-day maintenance operations

Best Practice and Knowledge Management    

•  Remain abreast of new innovations in equipment/methods
•  Evaluate and align with process needs and develop applicable training, so as to transfer new knowledge to artisans
•  Perform continuous improvement in usage of machinery/equipment

Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

•  Adhere to Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) programmes at all times
•  All incidents and accidents are reported immediately to foreman according to set procedures
•  All work/maintenance work is done according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), regulations and standards
•  All necessary SHEC precautions are taken when working on production equipment
•  Personal protective equipment is worn at all times
•  Tools and equipment are inspected daily prior to being used according to SHEC practices and statutory requirements
•  Work area is cleaned and environment restored to its original state after completion of a job

Continuous Improvement

•  Stay abreast of latest and new Technology in field of competence
•  Develop and implement technology through analyses of current processes procedures and techniques and implement through Project process
•  Thorough knowledge of the theories, standard practices, materials and processes of the craft
•  Expert working knowledge of the assembly, installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of applicable equipment and systems

Equipment Operations and Control    

•  Record defects/status of tools/equipment and hand over to Foreman
•  Store tools/equipment safely
•  Repair defects on equipment as per manufactures spec
•  Inspect HT substation/MCC Rooms
•  Inspect all auto electrical equipment
•  Identify planned maintenance short falls

Routine Work Management    

•  Ensure the execution of maintenance plans
•  Balance workload between routine and scheduled maintenance and breakdown recovery
•  Assist with Project planning in area of responsibility and expertise
•  Ensure delivery of service in alignment with agreed Company and external Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards

Safe and Healthy Work Environment    

•  Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
•  Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
•  Comply with SHEC/technical requirements
•  Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times
