Mechanical Field Engineer (ASU Plant) _Vanderbijlpark at Air Products South Africa

Overview & Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for providing critical machine expertise, offering troubleshooting support, and ensuring effective management of shutdowns to maintain operational efficiency for On-Sites plants. Reporting to the Senior Field Engineer. The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Manage maintenance budget allocated to equipment repairs schedule.
• Ensure and enforce legal statutory requirements compliance.
• Manage spares and ensure machine availability for production.
• Safely perform major maintenance, pre-planned work on shutdowns and major machine overhauls.
• Managing equipment history and upgrading existing history system.
• Ensure effective contractor management.

Essential Requirements

• A minimum Mechanical Fitter qualification (Red seal trade tested) is compulsory;
• Knowledge of ASU plant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience;
• Good knowledge of rotating equipment;
• Excellent verbal and written communication;
• Must be computer Literate, proficient in the MS Office Suite.
