Mechanical Lead Engineer - Northern Suburbs at Communicate Recruitment

Skills & Experience:

Team Leadership:

• Lead and inspire a team of engineering professionals to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative working environment.

Customer Interface:

• Work closely with customers to establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources.
• Ensure clear communication and alignment with customer requirements.

Delegation and Direction:

• Delegate work to assigned engineering personnel.
• Provide guidance and technical direction to design engineers.

Project Management:

• Manage project/task timelines to ensure that agreed milestones are reached.
• Proactively communicate and plan for any deviations from the schedule.

Technical Soundness and Compliance:

• Take responsibility for the technical soundness and compliance of designs with customer requirements and engineering standards.
• Conduct internal design reviews to ensure quality and compliance.

Design Reviews:

• Lead design reviews with both customers and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals.

CAD Design:

• Perform CAD design, including 3D modeling, creation of 2D drawings, and maintenance of Bill of Materials.
• Work within the customer's Product Data Management (PDM) system.

Product Sales Option Matrix:

• Maintain the customer product sales option matrix.

Production Support:

• Handle custom order engineering requests, providing technical solutions and support.

Administrative:

• Carry out necessary administrative tasks related to the role.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree (BEng, BSc, or BTech) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of post-graduate engineering design experience.
• Willingness to travel overseas for variable periods depending on specific project needs.
