About the job

• Marie Stopes South Africa is inviting registered doctors based in Gauteng to apply for Fixed Term Contract opportunities in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Your duties as Clinical Practitioner will include service provision (including the provision of second trimester termination of pregnancy services), clinical support to professional nurses including assistance with the management of complicated cases and medical emergencies, as well as strengthening of the systems used in our centres, in order to improve the quality of care we provide to our clients. 

ABOUT YOU

As a strong supporter of sexual and reproductive health rights for all women/men, including abortion services, the successful candidate meets the following role criteria: -

• You are Pro-Choice.
• Medical Doctor (MBChB) Degree
• Private and Public Sector experience (Advantageous)
• TOP trained / experience (Advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills (speaking, listening, writing)
• Excellent clinical skills and clinical judgement - Strong attention to detail
• Intermediate PC skills
• Information Management Systems; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Office Packages
• Ability to work as part of a team and liaise with people of all levels.
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to put people at ease in an emotionally charged environment whilst maintaining professionalism.
• Customer service skills - Work well under pressure
• Committed to the protection of team members and clients, with a focus on vulnerable groups.

REMUNERATION: Negotiable depending on experience.

CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed term.

WORKING HOURS: Fulltime

LOCATION: Sandton, Gandhi Square, Soweto, Pretoria & all other MSSA centres in other regions as required.
