    Medical Officer Grade 3 (Anaesthetics)

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner, that is MBCHB and DA(SA). HPCSA registration as an independent Medical Practitioner.
    • Proof of current registration with HPCSA (2026/2027). A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner, of which 7 years of the above must be an appropriate experience in Anaesthetics.
    • Current training in PALS, ACLS and POCUS will serve as an added advantage. The applicant must be competent in Paediatric Anaesthesia, Neurosurgical Anaesthesia, Thoracic Anaesthesia and care of the critically ill patient.
    • The applicant must also be able to participate in commuted overtime.

    Duties :

    • Support HOD with clinical, academic and administrative duties. Maintain satisfactory clinical, professional and ethical standards related to these activities. Ensure effective and efficient services to contribute to optimal patient care.
    • Supervision of and effective utilization of medical staff. Responsible for training and teaching of Medical Interns, Junior Medical Officers and Students. Assist in implementation of department policies and programs. Participate in academic activities in the hospital.
