A medical degree (MBChB/MBBCh) or equivalent thereof, FC Urol(SA) or equivalent, MMed in Urology, Registration with HPCSA as a Specialist in Urology. Proof of current registration with HPCSA (2025/2026) as a Urology Specialist.
Duties :
Provide a quality cost effective and efficient 24-hours Urology services in keeping with Batho-Pele Principles. Management of all designated areas of responsibility within the Urology department at FER Hospital, conducting of urology clinics, ward rounds and consultations to other disciplines, Drawing up of protocols for patients and wards/clinic management.
Performance of procedures relevant to the discipline. Assist with the training and guidance of Medical Interns, Medical Officers, Registrars and other staff categories working in Urology Department.
Maintain accurate and appropriate health records in accordance with the above. Supervision of / participation in postgraduate and undergraduate training, Participation in the academic programs of the department.
Conducting relevant research within the department, Performing regular audits of the department. Liaising with the hospital management and other agencies to ensure the efficient provision of clinical Urology services in the hospital and district.
Providing consultative support services to peripheral institutions as part of the department’s outreach program.
