Metrology Laboratory Technician - Uitenhage at Dana Incorporated

Role & Responsibilities:

• Programming of P40 CMM measurement routines.
• Measures parts with the P40 computerized measurement machines.
• Analyzes and provide disposition as appropriate then notifies the appropriate personnel of the product status. 
• Confirms completeness and validity of supplier inspection documentation.
• Conducts assigned activities in alignment with production submissions to P40 room.
• Conforms to all relevant written instruction and process flows as required by the Quality management system.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and without direct supervision.
• Interacts with various Quality, Production and Engineering team members, and communicate directly with suppliers and customers to ensure product quality.
• Analyzes, collects, and publishes performance data and reports, write technical reports, and develop and maintain accurate quality records.
• Develops, implements, and maintains Quality procedures, standards, and controls. Support Quality through the conduct of nonconformance investigations and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
• Performs other tasks as deemed necessary, and those related to assuring that product meets established standards for quality.
• Follows safety rules and report problems to Supervision or Management.

Education & Experience:

• Matric/Grade 12 preferably Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or higher.
• 3-5 years’ experience in automotive industry with the quality department
• Use and understand Measurement equipment such as Vernier caliper, Micrometers, Height gauges, Bore gauges etc.
• Prior Computerized Measuring Machine exposure will be beneficial.
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft, Excel, and Word. Etc.)
• Must have the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Ability to perform physical activities.
