• A leading pet food manufacturing company with a strong interest in the companion animal industry is seeking the above role to set up, install, and maintain factory machines, conduct inspections, manage repairs and preventative tasks, ensure safety compliance, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a N3 and Trade Test – Electrical/ Mechanical
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in required trade
• Must be Mechanical and Electrical inclined

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Setting up, installing, and maintaining machines in the factory.
• Doing daily inspections in the factory.
• Logging and reporting deviations on the daily report.
• Repairing deviations as they are recognized.
• Executing preventative tasks.
• Completing and handing back job cards as soon as the tasks are completed.
• Completing stores requisition for the withdrawal of spares as required.
• Ensuring that repairs, both electrical and mechanical, are done in accordance with the request from the supervisor.
• Ensuring that the tasks are completed to adhere to the plant requirements.
• Maintaining and improving the visual appearance of all machinery and buildings.
• Doing alterations or modifications as required.
• Resolving electrical and/or mechanical problems as may be required.
• Prioritizing and managing job cards to ensure effective completion of required projects.
• Ensuring that all tools being used are in safe and good order.
• Reporting all deviations in equipment and/or unsafe acts.
• Complying with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and all Company Health and Safety rules and policies.
• Cleaning the area of all maintenance items after the task has been completed.
• Ensuring that the work area is clean and neat at all times.
• Removing all redundant items from the workplace.
