Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
• N3: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Millwright MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
• 2-3 years applicable technical and maintenance experience within a heavy industry, production, mining, or pyro-metallurgical environment (Essential/Minimum)
• Psychometric assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Valid Public Driver's License: Code B (Essential/Minimum)
• Competency in Medium Voltage Switching (Essential/Minimum)
• Completion of Core MQA Modules Assessments and On-the-Job MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Proficiency in programming of circuits, panels, PLCs, and related equipment

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Ensure compliance with statutory Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)/Mine Health and Safety Acts (MHSA) and industry regulations.
• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on infrastructure and high-tech equipment.
• Program and maintain circuits, panels, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) as per specifications and workshop manuals.
• Manage and operate medium to high voltage switchgear safely and efficiently.
• Plan and order necessary parts to reduce production delays and maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Transfer knowledge and mentor artisan aides and trainees for skill development and increased competency.
• Promote and adhere to safety and health practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting risk assessments.
• Inspect all tools, equipment, and vehicles to identify defects and ensure proper function before use.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with operators to minimize downtime and ensure efficient workflow.
• Document maintenance activities, including receiving, completing, and returning job cards in a timely manner.
