Mining Engineer at MECS (Pty) Ltd

PURPOSE:

• To deliver technical support to Business Units on modelling practices aspects, as well as on mine planning procedures in order to contribute effectively to the business operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BEng Mining Engineering (Minimum / Essential)
• Diploma Project Management
• Certificate First Line Management

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years experience within Mining Engineering Environment

Some of the duties listed below:

• Technical support: mining processes matrix solutions
• Inspire and support high performance teams in the disciplines
• Apply functional best practise, promote sharing of best practise and knowledge
• Manage own cost recovery in line with dept. targets
• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health andEnvironmental (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
• Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
• Stay abreast of technological advancements in terms of mine modelling
• Assist in technical evaluations within Mining Processes in the execution of mine design, equipment selection and costing associated with current operations and new projects
