    Mining Sector Lead - Kempton Park

    What you’ll do:  

    • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and potential growth areas within the African mining sector and wider AMEA region
    • Analyze competitive landscapes and emerging market shifts to identify strategic opportunities for Aggreko in the sector
    • Participate in market sizing, forecasting and budget preparation and work closely with Marketing Team in the context of sector-specific campaigns
    • Develop and refine the overall business development strategy for the sector, in line with short-term and long-term growth goals
    • Collaborate with cross-functional matrix teams to align business development strategies with Bid Managers, Engineering, Pricing, Legal and other specialists, and following agreed protocols (e.g.“Deal Clinic”) build and present “Value Propositions”
    • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision makers, stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers including EPCM contractors and mine developers and keep these informed of Aggreko’s products and related technological advances
    • Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration
    • Monitor sales pipelines, track key metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed
    • Provide mentorship and leadership to the business development team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment
    • Oversee the development of comprehensive business proposals and presentations for potential clients and partners

    You’ll have the following skills and experience: 

    • Proven track record of successfully closing high-value deals and driving revenue growth
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make informed strategic decisions
    • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and lead a project team effectively
    • Extensive network within the mining sector and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
    • Strong understanding and competence of the technical, commercial and contractual elements of a long-term mine power contract
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen eye for identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities
    • Willingness to travel as needed

    • Business & Commercial acumen: understands the industry, market trends, customer behavior and competitors; able to construct high-value complex proposals
    • Technical Acumen: sales expertise, know how to work a sales pipeline, manage, and forecast sales that will lead to revenue growth and build relationships with clients; intellectual capability required to understand and articulate how Aggreko’s products and services match customer applications
    • Communication & Interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to build strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and other stakeholders; able to collaborate well internally
    • Data & Analytical skills: able to analyze sales data and using it to make informed decisions that can improve sales performance; analyze key performance indicators and conducting market research are essential to the job
    • Project Management: able to handle multiple projects at once, prioritize workloads and manage tight timelines
    • Customer Intimacy: ability to develop strong relationships with customers and be recognized as credible and trusted advisor
