National Procurement Specialist at Kuehne + Nagel

Your Role

we pride ourselves on excellence in procurement. As a National Procurement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes on a national scale. Use your strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills to add value to our procurement team and deliver world-class service to our organization.

Your Responsibilities

• Liaise with branches nationally for direct expense/fixed asset procurement requests, obtaining quotations where necessary.
• Responsible for issuing purchase orders for branches nationally, for direct expense/fixed asset purchases, in line with the approval process.
• Maintain stationery and consumables stock for KN Longmeadow, and process requisitions for same.
• Manage expiry periods of equipment agreements and liaise with relevant business/functional units for update/upgrade/extension.
• Maintain and update supplier documents, contracts, and agreements
• Manage expiry periods of equipment agreements and liaise with relevant business/functional units for update/upgrade/extension.
• Manage supplier on-boarding and compliance
• Management of on-site suppliers
• Supplier evaluations and audits

Your Skills and Experiences

• Minimum three years business experience is required with a preference for procurement exposure in a corporate logistics environment
• Solid understanding of compliance and business processes required. 
• Strong negotiation skills with a successful history of securing advantageous contracts.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, conduct market research, and make informed procurement decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
• A solid understanding of the B-BBEE landscape will be highly advantageous
• Customer centric mind-set and adaptable to change
