About the job

To coordinate the occupational health & safety processes and primary health of the company. This is currently a full-time position, but shorter or flexible working hours can be negotiated.

• Provide a primary health service to employees and order, store and dispense schedule 1 to 4 medicines
• Provide monthly reports on the primary health service to HR on relevant statistics and trends and make recommendations
• Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation
• Monitor costs to ensure compliance to annual budget and provide input into the annual budgets for the clinic, wellness programmes and gym
• Compile an annual wellness calendar
• Coordinate wellness interventions and sourcing suitable service providers
• Monitor and control chronic conditions and run workshops that address specific risk factors
• Report and follow up on all occupational accidents and emergency treatments
• Complete DOL accident claims and medical reporting (COID)
• Coordinate medical surveillance including pre-employment, baselines, periodic medicals and exit medicals
• Keep up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health and occupational health and safety.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Primary Health Care.
• Dispensing licence
• Audiometry and Spirometry certificate
• Registered with SANC and SASOHN
• Basic MS Office skills
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within an Occupational Health environment
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Driver’s License and own vehicle essential.
