Operating Room Practitioner

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- To function as a scrub practitioner and circulator under indirect supervision of a professional nurse.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Deliver safe quality patient care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure effective peri-operative preparation for an allocated Theatre list
- Adhere to infection prevention and control principles in order to mitigate clinical risks
- Ensure optimal utilisation of equipment and pharmaceutical stock to minimize financial risks
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Operating Theatre Practitioner Diploma
- DESIRED EDUCATION: None
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
- DESIRED EXPERIENCE: None
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Aseptic technique
- Record keeping
- Instrument management techniques
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols
- Risk identification
