Assess patients’ physical and functional abilities and develop, implement, and monitor individualised physiotherapy treatment plans to optimise mobility, independence, and rehabilitation outcomes.
Deliver interventions including mobility retraining, neurorehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation, balance retraining, fall prevention, exercise prescription, wheelchair seating, and mobility equipment prescription.
Provide patient and caregiver education, plan discharge and home exercise programmes, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient-centred goals, and maintain accurate clinical documentation and billing records.
Requirements
Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Board for Physiotherapy, Podiatry, and Biokinetics, in the category Independent Practice (Physiotherapy).
Proven experience in physical rehabilitation, with strong clinical reasoning, holistic assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Sound knowledge of the Health Professions Act, Physiotherapy Scope of Practice Regulations, HPCSA and SASP professional guidelines, with a commitment to accountability, empathy, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.
