Specific Experience
• A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the pulp and paper industry).
• DCS, Pulp and Paper knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Networking and IT infrastructure knowledge will be an added advantage.
Qualifications & Expertise
• Matric (Maths and Physical Science)
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
Functional Outputs
• PI Server/PI AF
• Be able to plan, support, and maintain PI servers, including security, archive sizing and tuning
• Be able to plan, support, and maintain other OSISoft components, such as Module Database/AF, PI SDK (Software Development Kit), PI AF (Asset Framework) SDK (Software Development Kit), PI OLEDB (Object Linking and Embedding), PI ICU
• Interfaces: PI OPC (Object Linking and Embedding) for Process Control), PI RDBMS (Relational Database), PI to PI interface, PI SNMP interface
• Tag configuration and setup
• Develop/edit reports using Excel and SSRS (Sequel Server Reporting Services)
• Develop/edit Process Book Visualizations
• Create PI Notifications
• Create AF (Asset Framework) hierarchy using S88/S95 standards (design philosophy for process control)
• Design databases/elements/notifications/analysis templates
• Create asset based analytics and rollup calculations
• Design and implement data visualization through Process Book, Data Link and SSRS
• Ensure operation of system (Uptime) and data backups
• Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly system manager tasks
• Perform system recoveries, upgrades, and vendor patches/security patches as needed
• Perform standby duties and after hours call outs
• Providing training for end-users and system administrators
• Monitoring of related integration jobs utilizing Windows Event Log, NetIQ, Windows NT Scheduler and various commercial-off-the-shelf scheduling tools and utilities.
• Administrator for various applications that could receive data from PI and including business data administration, configuration/setup, report writing, and security administration.
• Provide high level support and solutions to end users

• Strong knowledge of programing (C#,VBA, VB6).
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server programming and Database Design
• Understanding of PI UDS (Upload/Download Software).
