Pilot Hall Engineer - Vehicle Electronics at Volkswagen Group South Africa

About the Opportunity: 

• Providing 1st level support to production for all vehicle electrics/electronic concerns
• Investigating build/audit related problems (root cause analysis, establishment and implementation of corrective actions)
• Basic IT skills (such as configuring IP addresses, setting up printer configurations etc.)
• Setup and maintenance of the universal testing equipment (production commissioning equipment)
• Software maintenance of the vehicle electronics diagnostic equipment for production
• Use of Volkswagen diagnostic and trace tools to diagnose vehicle electronics
• Networking/working with other departments

About You:

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Trade - Auto Electrician advantageous
• Have a minimum 3 years technical experience in the automotive industry
• Experienced and extensive knowledge of the vehicle production process
• Know the vehicle electrical systems (brakes, airbag, lights etc.)
• Knowledge on the vehicle communication bus (CAN bus)
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Have good analytical skills relevant to solving of vehicle build/audit related problems.
• Have good communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Required to work shifts and weekends
• Willing to be hands on
• Have the ability to speak and read German will be advantageous
