    Political Research and Analysis Coordinator - Cape Town (Fixed Term)

    Job Description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Conducting and producing political research for the party
    • Coordinating intelligence gathering with provincial structures and external stakeholders
    • Analysing data and reporting thereon
    • Advising on political approaches
    • Crafting messaging

    Job Requirements
    Minimum requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
    • 2 years’ experience working in a research or analytical environment 
    • Experience in due diligence software and tools (SearchWorks, CIPC, WinDeed, SAQA preferable)
    • Report writing experience
    • Communications or media experience
    • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, and basic Adobe Acrobat
    • Ability to navigate on Social Media – Twitter and WhatsApp

    Skills:

    • Report writing and summarising
    • Written and verbal communication
    • Coordinating and organising
    • Administration and attention to detail

    Abilities:

    • Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
    • Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
    • Work independently
    • Apply sound judgement

    Knowledge and Commitment:

    • Research methodologies and report–writing
    • Current affairs and political landscape
    • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
    • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
