    Ports & Terminals Engineer - Intermediate

     

    As The Successful Candidate, You Will Be

    • Lead work packages on projects and provide technical support and mentorship to graduates and junior resources in your areas of technical expertise
    • Working directly with clients to oversee successful engagement delivery
    • Winning new work and contributing to bids with other business sectors
    • Available to travel to international project locations
    • Working in a dynamic team of Ports & Coastal Engineers and collaborate with other disciplines (Civil Infrastructure, Mechanical BMH, Dynamic Simulation, Controls and Instrumentation, Advisory etc.) or occasionally manage surveyors or field investigation contractors
    • Be responsible for executing and leading port and coastal engineering design tasks, including harbour basin, port layout and berth planning and designs, data gathering, site data analysis, metocean data analysis, and coastal engineering element designs
    • Be responsible for report writing on client engagements, whether technical notes on designs, sections of larger reports or complete study reports
    • Be working closely with other key expert teams on mining corridor studies to assist and define inputs to availability and downtimes for export volumes at the berth and port channels

    You Bring To The Role

    • 7 to 12 years working experience after obtaining your Post Graduate Degree in Ports and/or Coastal Engineering at a recognized tertiary institution
    • Professional registration with ECSA (or a recognised professional council)
    • Experience in the field of ports and coastal engineering, such as the specialist sub-disciplines of port planning, terminal layout design, coastal engineering, coastal structures design, and ideally also berth structure design
    • Experience in applying local and international applicable guidelines and standards such as CIRIA, CEM, PIANC, Eurocodes, British Standards, ANSI
    • Experience in coordinating and leading small studies
    • Assist in the training of graduate engineers
