Job Description

Responsible for inspecting all products that is due to be loaded and dispatched, and/or returns, to ensure that the Meat Safety Act regulations and company standard operating procedures are adhered to.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 with mathematics.
• Must be able to work in a high-pressured environment.
• Valid PMI certificate required.
• Proven PMI experience will be advantageous.
• Willingness to work shift and overtime including on weekends and public holidays.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensures that products have been subjected to the specified time and temperature requirements.
• Ensure product that does not comply with the Meat Safety Act, do not go through to the customer.
• Correctly classify condemned product by following the correct non-conformity product procedure.
• Prevent losses by ensuring complying product is not turned down unnecessarily.
• Follow all health and safety/ HACCP standards as per GFC standards and regulations.
• Completes checklists, loading documentation, off-loading documentation, and reports as required and report all variances to the head of department.
• Insures that required files are maintained and updated as needed.
• Liaise with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure quality service and products.
