Pricing Manager at Averda

JOB PURPOSE 

• Ensure integrity and accuracy of cost and selling price proposals.
• Assist the Averda South Africa sales team with optimised costing of large proposals, RFQ’s, RFP’s and tenders.
• Attend site visits as and when required within a specified and defined scope of work.
• To work closely with the solutions team on pricing proposals but also to understand the required solution and how it can be crafted to ensure the clients requirements are met.
• Assist in pricing negotiations of proposals.
• Create, maintain and update a pricing history database.
• Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation as well as ensure to take pricing actions to enhance the profitability.
• Manage pricing procedure, including but not limited to labour, equipment, transport and disposal.
• Understand the price point within the waste management industry of Averda South Africa versus competition.
• Setting up of base price costing model to develop fluidity with profitability considerations, develop discount programs and market penetration price point strategies.
• Comply with Health, Safety and Environment policies

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Optimised Costing of Large Proposals, RFQs, RFPs and tenders

• Ensure competitive costing models which are aligned to market
• Drive pricing efficiency to enable deal to be won
• Formulate custom pricing based on client requirements based on site visit

Work Closely With Solutions Team

• Ensure commercial viability for newly created customised client solution with emphasis on competitive pricing structures
• Maintain sustainable pricing structures for customised solutions

Create, Maintain and Update a Pricing History Database

• Working with FP&A build and maintain Pricing History Database
• Maintain integrity of pricing inputs into database
• Continuous monitoring of database to ensure that data is valid
• Creation of pricing models based on Pricing History database

Manage Pricing Procedure and Set up Base Price Costing Model

• Develop National pricing procedure which enables standardised and centralised pricing for all sales teams within Averda South Africa
• Keep abreast at all times of pricing in respect of labour, equipment, transport and disposal
• Constant engagement with operations to ensure pricing procedures are kept up to date
• Working with FP&A co-ordinate the Development of base price & rebate costing model to be implemented across Averda South Africa

QUALIFICATIONS and KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline
• Master’s Degree in Business or related discipline (advantageous)

• Technical involvement in project and bid pricing
• Negotiation processes
• Costing, pricing and project financial structuring
• Waste management/environmental industry knowledge
• Contract law (advantageous)
• Public Procurement policy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Language Proficiency
