Principal Scientist I at Roche

We are looking to appoint a full-time Principal Scientist I on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will report to a RED Team Leader and contribute to the development of a strategically aligned portfolio of products for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications. Specifically, this includes ideation, experimental execution and early stage product development. The role requires a high level of scientific, technical and creative skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and executing a portfolio of RED projects
• Taking a lead role in regard to scientific and technical questions
• Taking a lead role in brainstorming and innovation programs
• Conceptualizing and developing ideas and techniques
• Reporting key conclusions, strategic overviews and recommendations to the Team Leader
• Keep detailed records of all experiments and project-related information.
• Keep abreast of advances in the NGS field, identify commercial opportunities and suggest new product ideas.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior scientists.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure knowledge transfer for effective further product development, launch and support.
