Process Controller Groundwood - Ngodwana at Sappi

We are hiring!

• Sappi Ngodwana is looking for an experienced Process Controller to safely and efficiently manage the GW process, ensuring optimal production output and quality at minimal cost and downtime

As a Process Controller, you will be responsible to:

• Safely and Efficiently Operate Equipment: Ensure optimal production output and quality while minimizing downtime, rejections, and effluent.
• Perform Pre-Start Inspections: Follow making sheet and best operating practices for equipment inspections.
• Start Up and Shut Down Equipment: Follow best practices for starting up and shutting down Groundwood operations.
• Control Paper Properties: Manage visual and physical paper properties except calliper; take corrective action when quality issues arise.
• Report Problems: Inform Shift Superintendent of operational issues, abnormal conditions, and equipment defects.
• Optimize Furnish Mixes: Adjust furnish mixes as directed by production requirements.
• Complete Exception Reports: Document non-conformances on a shift basis and take appropriate action.
• Ensure Safety Compliance: Identify safety risks, report accidents and injuries promptly, and ensure adherence to safety procedures and practices.

What are we looking for?

• Matriculation with Mathematics and Physical Science, alongside a relevant post-matric certificate or equivalent NQF 5 qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in NP/GW operations.
• Possession of an Outside Operator license.
