Process Models CoE Manager at Datacentrix

Education requirement:

• B. Eng. degree (NQF 7) (Electrical / Electronic / Computer / Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial / Metallurgical Engineering)
• Software programming, data analysis, statistics, artificial intelligence / machine learning qualifications will be advantageous
• Any process-specific training or qualifications will be advantageous
• Any management qualification will be advantageous

Required Experience:

• At least 2 years of relevant management experience
• At least 5 years’ experience applying mathematics / statistics / engineering fundamentals to improve industrial processes
• At least 5 years’ experience working in the heavy industry, preferably in the steel industry
• At least 4 years’ experience in the use of process models. A first principle understanding of process models
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and statistical skills to be self-reliant
• Project management experience
• Experience in stakeholder and vendor management
• Experience in working with data bases and data processing
• General knowledge of Digital Transformation, such as the following

Key Responsibilities:

Management of Process Models CoE:

• Implementation of strategy
• Performance management
• Knowledge management
• Model-related risk management
• Communication
• Safety compliance management
• Regulatory compliance
• Succession planning
• Support and maintenance of existing process models – It is expected that the manager of the Process Models CoE will also do technical specialist work

General technical responsibilities:

• Evaluation and sourcing of new process models from within the ArcelorMittal group or 3rd party suppliers
• Commissioning and implementation of new models
• Designing, developing, and implementing in-house models
• Supporting strategic initiatives
• Simulations
• Economic evaluations and process data studies related to process/business improvement
• Liaising with management, R&D, engineers, technicians, and plant operators. 
• Standardisation where applicable
• Plant / process operational support
• Training and assisting model users
• Maintaining model-related documentation (functional specifications, technical specifications, user manuals, maintenance manuals, model parameters
