Process Optimisation Engineer

• We are recruiting for a Process Optimisation Engineer located in Vanderbijlpark to join an established manufacturer that supplies and distributes various types of industrial gas products. The successful candidate should come with at least more than 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of Advanced Process Controls Engineering, Process Engineering and/or Operations Process Engineering experience.
• Advantageous: Understanding the ASU plant operation.

• Aspen DMC
• SQL
• C++
• MATLAB
• MS Excel

Duties and responsibilities:

• Drive to implement solutions.
• Understand and implement optimisation and proficiency issues.
• Responsible in working in partnership with process engineers, plant management and plant operators.
• Collaborate with operations staff to determine and maintain KPI’s.
• Monitor plant performance to improve the productivity of process operations.
• Help with plant start up and commissioning activities.
• Report on the operations performance and benefits new capital improvements.
• Support the operations team with solving and resolving problems.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining advanced control initiatives which perform on-line plant optimization rooted from the established optimization strategy for the plant.
• Supply a comprehensive analysis of plant and facility performance and potential optimization opportunities with the associated financial benefits.
• Participate in Management of Change to run process safety in your area of responsibility, Hazard and Operability activities and Operations Hazards Review.
