    Procurement Manager, Indirects, AMETA-2

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities May Include:

    • Execute sourcing strategies across spend categories to ensure value creation, cost optimization, and risk management.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high levels of performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements, ensuring that contracts are aligned with global procurement policies.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure procurement aligns with business objectives.
    • Monitor and report on supplier performance, implementing KPIs and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods and services.
    • Manage cost reduction initiatives and identify areas for further cost efficiency and improvement across procurement categories.
    • Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and regulatory requirements, providing guidance on governance and best practices.
    • Support the implementation of global and regional procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals
    • Lead, develop, and coach a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, ensuring the team delivers on its objectives and contributes to the overall success of the procurement function.

    Indirects Procurement Manager, AMETA

    Position Purpose

    • To lead and manage indirect procurement activities across the AMETA region, with expanded strategic scope including Indirect CAPEX and OPEX categories. The role will drive cross-regional sourcing programs, sustainability initiatives, and adoption of global procurement systems. .(Previously managed by a global procurement systems team)
    • Indirect categories tend to be complex with varying stakeholder needs, significant external spend and key relationships up to and including executive level. The prime accountability for this role is to drive value through ensuring the commercial elements of spend in these categories are executed brilliantly with our vendors. This role will lead a team to deliver sourcing decisions with key stakeholders and will apply category management to support the maximisation of value, whilst minimising risk from all external spend and assuring quality of delivery and performance

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Deliver Indirect Annual Savings Targets in line with Brambles Indirect Strategy for AMETA region.

    • Tracking of approved actualised savings monthly.
    • Develop and manage project plans for all savings initiatives
    • Develop and Implement Indirect Category Sourcing Strategies for SSA and ANZ
    • Be the champion for Strategic Sourcing and share as part of monthly knowledge sharing sessions the methodology.

    Build relationships & credibility with All Business Stakeholders leveraging Indirects early in the process for required goods & services

    • Develop Stakeholder Communication Plan
    • Consult regularly with Brambles Indirect category managers to understand developments in markets where intelligence data is limited to leverage scale and volume with suppliers driving initiatives and cost down
    • Negotiations with Suppliers on all category / commodity price increases
    • Communication and implementation of new agreed prices
    • Drive, Deliver and Implement all initiatives along with relevant business stakeholders

    Contract Management

    • Creation
    • Approval from Legal

    Supplier Relationship Management

    • Create KPI’s to manage supplier performance and conduct monthly / quarterly / bi-annual meetings with relevant business stakeholder
    • Management of a robust governance structure.
    • Ensure that stakeholders actively participate in assessing the progress against the plan, engaging additional stakeholders as required
    • Take full ownership of the communication and training plans for the categories in scope
    • Valuable contributions to Brambles Procurement function in areas such as global and regional projects & initiatives. Building of Brambles Procurement relationships and functional cohesion.
    • Influence and Drive procurement Indirects spend to support the Regional BBBEEE targets
    • Support & drive BBBEE Supplier and Enterprise Development initiatives from a procurement perspective

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • 3-year Business Degree or
    • Supply Chain qualification (NQF 6 Dip. SCM / similar) or
    • Engineering qualification (B. Eng / N. Dip. Eng.)

    Desirable:

    • Procurement tertiary qualification (CIPS / similar)

    Experience

    • 5 years’ experience in a procurement capacity,
    • Strong experience negotiating across a range of external suppliers
    • Experience with legal contracting
    • Proven project management experience
    • Professional procurement expertise based on depth of experience and commercial acumen
    • Mentoring and Facilitation

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Ability to challenge, influence and work with cross functional teams
    • Strong communication and listening skills
    • Self-starter who is able to multi-task
    • Specialist knowledge of strategic sourcing, other procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends.
    • Advanced negotiation skills
    • Advanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills
    • Highly developed project management and contract management skills including tenacity to deliver outcomes – Good Finisher.
    • Strong Interpersonal and Relationship skills
    • Strong Project Management skills
