    Procurement Practitioner

    Job Summary

    • You will be responsible for the procurement of goods, capital equipment and services, sourcing of new vendors, benchmarking of pricing, management of commercial risk, maintaining adherence to policies and procedures, ensuring that value for money is maximized and cost savings are generated for the company.

    Your role will:

    • Engage with contract managers about the value of robust procurement and ensure adequate internal training and processes are understood and best practices adhered to.
    • Compile the supplier contract document and incorporating any changes agreed between the Contractor and the Company.
    • Progress the tender package through the approval process to ensure timeous placing of the contracts.
    • Lead the supplier negotiations, recommend supplier selection and implement contracts to encourage continual improvement.
    • Support the business to monitor supplier’s performance in line with KPIs, contractual obligations and service level agreements.
    • Provides advice to the originator and other personnel on legal and commercial implications of tenders during adjudication process.

    Qualifications
    Formal qualifications:

    • A Legal degree with Commercial expertise.

    Additional requirements:

    • Understanding of relevant safety and construction contract legislations.

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a Commercial/Legal environment.
    • Knowledge in Contract Law and/or Drafting is a requirement.
    • Good understanding of the Purchasing Framework, and related policies and procedures.
    • In depth knowledge of contracts management and administration
    • Knowledge of Applicable Practices, Policies and Procedures
    • Knowledge of Procurement Processes, techniques and systems
    • Sound knowledge of the BBBEE Code of Good Practice and Mining Charter
    • Working knowledge of SAP advantageous
