Product Owner

The Shoprite Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner. The Product Owner will be accountable for the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a specific product or system. This position forms a key role in the delivery team, and owns and prioritises the team backlog, creates feature documentation, user stories, and is responsible for acceptance criteria and UATs. This position engages with product management to align the development team to larger strategic goals and initiatives and is accountable for the quality of feature delivery from the team. The Product Owner is also responsible for aligning features to the market and business needs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree/three-year diploma or equivalent experience in Commerce, IT, Engineering or Marketing.

The following is required:

• Experience and proven success in translating business strategy and analysis into successful consumer products
• Experience as a product owner in an agile team
• Proven track record of successfully launching new product features (2-3 years)
• Experience working in an agile team (2-3 years)
• Certified Product Owner, and certified SAFe Product Owner
• General Marketing / Retail Experience
• Customer User Experience
• Loyalty Experience
• Analytics / Big Data Experience
• Commercial Experience in digital-led business development
