Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate and a basic R425, R171, R174 qualifications (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse must available.
Know nursing care process and procedures, nursing statutes and other applicable legislations. The candidate must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and able to work in a team. Candidate must have good ethical practice and caring attitude. Manage workplace discipline and have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the ideal hospital component, Batho Pele principles, ministerial priorities and patient’s rights.
Duties :
Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related frameworks. Perform a clinical nursing practice and nursing standard as determined by the relevant health facility. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Work as part of multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care. Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other clinicians, including report writing when required.
Work effectively, co-operatively with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Display a concern for patients promoting advocating proper treatment and care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements and expectations.
