Grade 12/National Senior certificate, Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Degree/ Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse.
A minimum of 4 years’ appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general Nursing.
A post basic nursing qualification with a duration of a 1 year accredited with SANC in Trauma/ ICU. Knowledge of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Be willing to word day, night, weekend and public holidays.
Duties :
Perform clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the health facility. Execute duties and functions with proficiency within prescripts of applicable legislations.
Promote effective communication with patients, supervisors and other clinicians. Manage effective utilization of human, financial and material resources. Be able to plan your own work and that of the team to ensure proper patients care. Maintain professional growth/ ethical standards of self and the team.
Provide professional support for the provision of quality patient as required by Ideal Hospital Realization and Maintenance. Participate in educating and training of personnel and student nurses. Able to promote the rights of the patients, Batho Pele Principles, advocacy and facilitations of proper treatment and care patients.
Maintain accurate records keeping and regular auditing of patients’ files to ensure compliance with legal requirements, Knowledge and skills for conducting rapid assessment, triage and prioritizing of multi-disciplinary patients. Delivering emergency resuscitation and stabilization interventions. Participation in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Maintaining Infection Prevention Control standards. Demonstrate innovative leadership qualities in supervising and mentoring junior staff members. Evaluate staff performance adhering to the PMDS policy.
