The Program Officer MSMEs will assist in implementing the activities of the AUDA-NEPAD 100,000 MSME Initiative through coordination with Member State/Grantee frontline project staff, technical experts, and consultants.
Required Skills and Competencies
Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Technically competent, and knowledgeable, with experience in development issues and administrative management.
Experience in proposal development and resource mobilisation is an advantage.
Ability to identify and contribute to the solution of problems/issues.
Ability to listen and co-develop solutions to resourcing needs of African MSMEs.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, initiative, and with sound judgment.
High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment, and energy.
Ability to leverage limited resources and staff for maximum impact.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
Experience working with AU or other international development organizations would be an advantage.
Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to Africa’s development priorities and goals.
Knowledge of various research methodologies and sources, including electronic sources on the internet, intranet, and other databases.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Procurement, Computer Science or related fields with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in project management at a national or international level, international finance, and/or international development within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organisations regionally and/or internationally.
