Project Manager - Business Analysis at African Parks Network

Key Responsibilities:

• Project management of key strategic initiatives: You will partner with the Head of PIRATE and the Global Funding Director to deliver strategic initiatives aiming to improve the effectiveness of fundraising operations and the positioning of AP. This could include the review and restructuring of the fundraising structures in one of our markets, coordination of the development and roll-out of Standard Operating Procedures or research, content development and planning for AP’s participation at key conferences such as COPs, Climate Weeks, Davos, etc.
• Fundraising monitoring and reporting: You will lead the coordination of effective monitoring and reporting of fundraising activities and progress against targets across our global fundraising teams. You will work closely with the fundraising team as well as the finance and business intelligence team to ensure meaningful, correct and increasingly automated reporting for key constituencies.
• Business analytics: You will work closely with the Head of PIRATE and Global Funding Director on regular updates and special briefing documents on fundraising targets, emerging funding trends and funding projections. You will lead the collection and analysis of data / information / research and develop actionable recommendations to enable effective decision making within the Global Fundraising Leadership Team, AP’s Executive Team and Board of Directors. You will support the Head of PIRATE in solutioning around projects related to data and decision-making and engage with other departments to enable group-wide alignment.

Requirements

Competencies, qualifications and experience needed for the role:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in several of the following areas: business analytics, project management, process optimization and strategy. Background in a top-tier management consulting firm will be a plus.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field: business or engineering
• Purpose-driven with a passion for conservation, sustainability and development topics
• Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented and at ease with large data sets and financial information
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop concise reports destined at senior and executive-level audiences
• Well organized and structured project manager with strong people skills and experience in coordinating input from different teams across an organization and globally dispersed teams
• Pro-active, creative and problem-solving mindset
• At ease with working in a deadline-driven environment and with a proven track record of handling multiple assignments in parallel
• Be fluent in English. Fluency in French would be a big plus   
• Excellent Excel and Power Point skills, experience with Salesforce and Power BI would be a plus
• Willing and excited to travel to remote protected areas across Africa
