Project Manager/ Draughtsperson at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• A well-established engineering and manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Project Manager / Draughtsperson with strong drafting, project coordination, and client-facing experience to support the design, planning, and execution of steel structures, machinery, and conveyor systems within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD (and SolidWorks where applicable) for conveyor systems, machinery, and steel structures
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of materials (BOMs), and support efficient project planning and execution
• Manage and coordinate multiple engineering projects to ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
• Liaise directly with clients, presenting designs, managing expectations, and maintaining professional communication
• Ensure all designs and deliverables meet required industry standards and internal quality benchmarks
• Coordinate with fabrication, production, and installation teams to ensure design intent is accurately implemented
• Monitor project progress, identify risks or deviations, and implement corrective actions where required
• Maintain project documentation, revision control, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3–5 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• AutoCAD proficiency (required)
• SolidWorks experience (preferred)
• Proven ability to manage projects and coordinate cross-functional teams
• Strong client liaison, communication, and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage project scope effectively.
