    Project Manager

    The role

    • Working in a team environment, the Project Manager within our vertical Service Delivery division will be responsible for leading the customer engagement to ensure that it meets all scope, time, budget and quality expectations, through planning, controlling and managing projects. The Project Manager will lead and support the project team and coach other Project Managers and Project Coordinators as team lead unless team is already led by a Customer Engagement Lead. (The project team may consist of Solution Architects, Technical Consultants, Business and Data Analysts, SAM specialists etc.)
    • In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for managing corporate, customer and third-party vendor efforts to plan and implement SoftwareONE solutions.
    • The Project Manager has an 80% chargeability objective and the rest of the time spent a follows 5% on internal projects, 5% on coaching and leading other team members, 5% supporting sales in pre-sales activities and the remaining 5% is to be spend on training and personal development in role and within SoftwareONE. These KPI’s are changeable according to what we need as a business to drive.
    • The Project Management Office (pmONE) is the overarching governance body that supports the three centrally led Vertical teams (Technology Services (Future Workplace & Cloud Services - Future Data Centre), Software Asset Management and Software Procurement Services) which operates globally through locally funded and managed resources.

    Serve as the face to the customer for SoftwareONE.

    • Responsible for managing all assigned customer projects across all Verticals. Training for these is available via our online Fuse training solution and you will be expected to take advantage of this.
    • You will work with vertically aligned Delivery Consultants to manage the successful delivery of projects, on time, on budget and in scope. You will also need to report on and mitigate project risk and escalate accordingly.
    • Track and manage project activities such as: Project Plan creation and maintenance, Regular Project Reporting to internal and external stakeholders, Cost and Effort Management, Risk & Issues Management, Meeting Management, Liaising with the PMO for Resource requests and allocation & potentially certain Change Management activities.
    • Develop and maintain project management best practices.
    • Support project reporting activities by ensuring project data quality in the Project tools provided.
    • Meets financial objectives by forecasting scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
    • Meets or exceeds approved budgets by providing reliable financial forecasts to Management and regular update management on project progress.
    • Promoting and encouraging the adoption of pmONE services and standards to Business Leads, Solution specialists and Account Manager leads, through the project engagement.
    • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
    • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Basic understanding the range of services sold by SWO. Being able to identify and develop new opportunities within current project supporting early qualification and opportunity assessment escalating any leads for these services to the aligned Sales Team stakeholders.
    • Work with Business team on occasions on pre-sales activities and getting the scope finalized as required.
    • Mentor others and assist them with their professional development.

    What we need to see from you

    • Average Experience of +5 years in project management or PMI/Prince 2 Practitioner certification required. (If certification is not held, the candidate should qualify for the certification requirements and complete the certification by 1st year of employment.) Experience preferably from a Systems Integrator or a large service organization. Has the ability to manage internal as well as external resources with a team size <12 people, implementing complex IT solutions.
    • Accountable for managing multiple engagements or work streams with a value <1M GBP / Euro / USD
    • Responsible for directly managing between 5 and 15 projects (depending on size and complexity) across all vertical's SAM / SPS / TS through Project Managers / SDMs.
    • Proven experience of delivering Cloud aligned projects across the Microsoft stack, Office 365 and Azure is a must. Any experience delivering projects in SAP, AWS, ServiceNow, Application Modernization / Development and Software Asset Management solutions would be an added benefit.
    • Highly motivated and results oriented.
    • Managed a multi-site delivery including utilizing resource from a Global Delivery Center Network (Off-Shore / Near Shore / Best Shore)
    • Managed Senior Manager expectations to program / business case and resolves conflicts in large organizations.
    • Owns and manages knowledge sharing within a community (e.g., customer engagement team, the vertical practice and the project)
    • Solid problem-solving skills required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong business acumen.
    • Excellent presentation skills, you will be expected to have had complete ownership and lead customer facing engagements; presented project updates and feel comfortable liaising with all level of customer stakeholders, up to Board level.
    • Experience and desire to work in a technology consulting environment that will require local and regional travel.
    • Ensures team members support knowledge sharing.
    • Demonstrated experience and expertise selling solutions to business decision-makers by reinforcing the value of the SoftwareONE Services to the customer’s overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities.
    • Fluent in English.
