    Project Sales Manager – Public Sector

    Job Purpose

    • Responsible for driving sustainable sales performance against projected targets within the public sector.  Key areas of focus will be the delivery of project sales in the social housing, public healthcare and public education infrastructure space.  

    Key responsibilities :

    • To manage and develop relationships with key stakeholdersin the public sector, and to effectively represent our value proposition with specific focus on the following sectors i.e Densified social housing; health, education and public sector office space.
    • To achieve successful promotion of engineered solutions in project specifications for public sector infrastructure - managed all the way to commercial resolution,
    • To achieve sustained volume growth in the diffused ceiling and walling market - managed all the way to commercial resolution
    • To work closely with the Regional sales team to ensure all opportunities in the public sector are converted to mutual benefit.
    • Implement account management plans and activities within the public sector (Housing; Health care and Education) to ensure that business growth within GI and ceilings.
    • In conjunction with the Public Sector team and relevant Regional teams develop tactical sales plans in line with public sector requirements and GI stated RTM
    • Provide support to the business (all regions) in proactively identifying new opportunities in this sector for enhanced specifications, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, supply chain knowledge, commercial awareness and in-depth knowledge of the public sector.
    • To manage relationships with, and to effectively represent our value proposition to key Developers and Contractors within the public sector (Housing, healthcare and education) to drive and support the adoption of Saint Gobain’s alternative building systems
    • To actively increase the penetration of gypsum walling systems, in the residential space, with specific emphasis on high-rise residential projects as part of government strategy for social housing.
    • Collaborate with other companies within Saint Gobain Africa to offer to customers combined value proposition in line with business strategy.
    • Support Policy Deployment and the objectives contained therein, by working with cross-functional teams and pro-actively participate/deliver on commitments.
    • Assess the trends in the market and provide feedback to the business with a view of influencing sector specific innovation and growing our product offering.
    • Adherence to Company reporting procedure/commercial admin systems, offering appropriate feedback and information.
    • Actively drive, through the sector’s value chain, the SG concept of Multi Comfort on new build as well as the RMI, developing sector specific argumentation.
    • Responsibility for safety aspects within area of responsibility and instilling awareness within one’s team members.
    • All such duties and/or activities assigned by management/board as and when required.

    Qualifications required:

    • Post Matric Diploma in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Building or QS.
    • Willingness to undertake further qualifications is encouraged
    • Valid drivers licence

       Knowledge and Skills .

    • 3 years sales experience with proven technical experience within the construction project sales market – experienced in construction bias on the public sector projects.
    • Proven expertise to build, sustainable relationships, with key developers, architects, main contractors and sub-contractors within the public sector space.
    • Knowledge of construction process stages and ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency within a customers’ construction programme.
    • The ability to articulate a technical knowledge to key stakeholders (external and internal) to enable translation of opportunity into commercial benefit
    • Good working knowledge of current design packages e.g. AutoCAD
    • Candidate needs to be able bodied, enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to travel daily
